I am very privileged to be elected as SOPA’s Chairman again for a fourth year. In 2014, it continues to be our goal to serve the publishing industry.

Publishers still facing significant challenges as well as great opportunities in recent years. Readers now readily access to information anytime, anywhere through multiple devices. Nevertheless, we keep it as a priority to ensure that all the information available is true and reliable.

Kevin Huang

CEO, Pixel Media

Kevin is the Chief Executive Officer and a co-founder of Pixel Media Group of companies. He is responsible for the formulation of the overall corporate direction and business strategy of the Group, overseeing the Group’s performance. In addition, Mr. Huang also works closely with the heads of individual markets to identify initiatives on sales, business development and marketing etc.

Mr. Huang has over fifteen years experience in online advertising media and sales across Asia. In 2002, he led the management buyout of DoubleClick Media Hong Kong to establish Pixel Media. Since then, Mr. Huang and the management team has built the Group into a fast-growing, highly profitable, comprehensive and valuable online and mobile advertising sales network.

Prior to establishing Pixel Media, Mr. Huang served as the Director of Advertising Sales and Network Development of DoubleClick Media in Hong Kong and Malaysia. Before joining DoubleClick, he also held various sales positions at 247 Media Asia, Chinadotcom and NSTP Interactive (Malaysia).

Mr. Huang is dedicated to promoting the development of interactive advertising in Hong Kong and Asia. He is a board advisor, founding Vice Chairman and founding member of the HK Association of Interactive Marketing, and fellow member of the Asia Digital Marketing Association, The Hong Kong Advertiser’s Association (2As) and the Hong Kong Accredited Advertising Agencies Association (4As).

Tan Rahman

Tan is a highly experienced Internet and Mobile industry veteran with nearly 20 years in regional leadership roles within Asia. He has a broad spectrum of experience from being an early pioneer of the Asian Internet industry working with chinadotcom through over a decade of consulting for and defining the online strategies for many leading organisations.

Tan is currently the Head of Digital at OMD, a media agency within the Omnicom Media Group. Prior to this, he was the VP Asia Pacific for The Hyperfactory, a leading mobile marketing firm, with business development and Asia region expansion responsibilities. Tan has worked at the cutting edge of digital since the start of his career when he joined a small twelve person company which later became Chinadotcom, a NASDAQ listed company with over two and a half thousand people. Tan was involved in regional business development and new market entry as the company grew across Asia.

Tan has an exceptional strategic mind for the application of new technologies and digital communication methods to business. Skilled business leader, with proven success in driving organisational growth, strategic consulting and business development for large and small companies.

Ivy Wong

Over a fifteen year period in media industry, first in a role as Asia’s Senior Director of Global Sales at Yahoo!, and then as COO of TVB.com, and now CEO of Next Mobile Limited. Ivy Wong has led two media brands into the number one website position in Hong Kong.

Ivy Wong was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Next Mobile Limited in September 2011. Parent company Next Media Group is Hong Kong’s largest publicly listed Chinese-language print media company, publishes 12 newspapers and magazines in Hong Kong and Taiwan. With the vision of building a next media empire, Next Media has been investing in producing various digital content, like the very popular Animated News and videotainment content; and gaming and commerce. Mobile as Web 3.0 is the key focus of Next Media to build deeper engagement with our users thru these digital content and various new initiatives.

Before Next Media, Ivy was Chief Operating Officer of TVB.com Limited since November 2007. Parent company TVB is the largest terrestrial television broadcaster in Hong Kong and the southern China region serving a TV catchment area of some 300 million homes.

Ivy built and runs a team of over one hundred imaginative and dynamic individuals focused on developing strategies and new markets for TVB.com in the digital entertainment and new media industry. In a short three years, Ivy successfully turned TVB.com from a simple information website into a powerhouse streaming video portal which for certain periods of time ranked No. 1 entertainment portal in Hong Kong. Successful product “myTV” and “myTV on mobile” changes many people’s media consumption habits.

With one of the largest Chinese video entertainment libraries in the world at its disposal, TVB.com today boasts over 7 million unique users and over 100 million page-views per month. Website traffic and advertising revenues continue to grow apace. With such promising results, Ivy helps TVB.com achieve its mission: to build a community meeting place for the world’s Chinese-language audience, and allow them to enjoy exclusive TVB television programs anytime, anywhere, on any device.

Before TVB.com, Ivy spent more than 8 years with Yahoo! Inc. She joined Yahoo! as its core team member in its start-up days in the late 90s. She contributed greatly to building Yahoo’s Hong Kong business and helped shape the growth of online media business from simple banner ads to interactive ads. As the Head of Media Sales of Yahoo! Hong Kong, Ivy led her sales team in creating and delivering online marketing solutions to the top marketers in the region. Her clients included Cathay Pacific, Coca-Cola, Citibank, HK Trade Development Council, HSBC, Intel, Nike, Nokia and many more. In 2006, Ivy was appointed as Yahoo! Asia’s Senior Director of Global Sales. In her regional role, Ivy was the leader in building global infrastructure, taking Asia-based multinationals (e.g. Cathay Pacific and Samsung) onto the global stage and bringing US/European based multinationals (e.g. Nokia and General Motors) to Asian markets.

Ivy holds a Bachelor Degree in Commerce from the University of Toronto, Canada, majoring in International Economics and Marketing. She is an advanced diver who enjoys sports and traveling.

Wang Feng

Online Editor

South China Morning Post

Wang Feng joined South China Morning Post as their Online Editor in April this year, where he oversees the newly launched SCMP.com and dedicated digital news team.

Prior to this, he held the post of Editor for Reuters Chinese New Service in Beijing and Consumer Media Editor for Reuters, where he was responsible for building their news site in 2007.

He holds a Master’s degree in Journalism from University of California, Berkeley and an undergraduate degree in English from Peking University.
