History of SOPA |
|
|
The Society of Publishers in Asia (SOPA) was founded in 1982 to
promote, maintain and manage both local publishers and local
representatives of foreign publishers in Asia, with a view to
fostering better cooperation and understanding among members. It is
based in Hong Kong and represents more than 46 international,
regional and local media companies in Hong Kong and around Asia ,
responsible for more than 200 publications.
SOPA is a non-profit organisation, which enhances the professional
standing of publishers in Asia and aims to protect their interests.
The Society works to establish standards and guidelines for
publishers relating to issues such as quality control, professional
development, circulation, advertising and new media.
