SOPA monitors issues and informs all members on matters of importance
and concern to the publishing industry, such as government policies,
postal rates, taxes, trade conditions, copyright and trademarks. This is
done through regular meetings of the Board Members, speaker luncheons
and various Subcommittees.
SOPA organizes highly successful events such as the spectacular Annual
Publishers' Ball and the Annual Awards for Editorial Excellence, with
proceeds going to charity.
Moreover, SOPA also conducts professional training seminars featuring
only the best speakers from all over the world. The Society also hold
regular workshops and luncheons, and also participates in many corporate
activities, such as the AMIC Conference and playing host to other
industry bodies.
SOPA is also a significant player in organizing the Power of Print
research project, which proves vital in supplying the publishing field
with key information which benefits the industry as a whole.
