Cheung Kwai Yeung

Dr. Cheung Kwai-yeung, Ph.D. (University of Hong Kong) is a veteran journalist, Honorary Research Fellow of Centre of Asian Studies (HKU 2006-2008), Adjunct Fellow in School of Communication, Hong Kong Baptist University (2004-2005). He is Director of HK Federation of Journalists (2006-2008), Director of the Hong Kong Press Council (2000- ), Vice-Chairman of Hong Kong News Executives?Association ( 2001-2002), member of the Mass Communications Training Board, Vocational Training Council ( 2002- ), member of the Standing Committee on Language Education and Research, HKSARG (2000-2003), and member of the Federation of Hong Kong Writers.

Dr. Cheung is author of Jin Yong and Ming Pao Legend (2005), Outstanding Chinese Series (2001), Jin Yong and the Press (2000), The First 100 Years of the Chinese Club (1997), Understanding Chinese Newspaper in Hong Kong (1988) and Hong Kong Journalists at Work ( 1990 & 1984 ). Dr. Cheung teaches in the Mass Communication and Journalism Faculty, Chinese University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Baptist University as part-time lecturer.

Dr. Cheung serves in the local news media over 28-years, he worked with Ming Pao Daily as Deputy Editor-in-Chief and editorial writer, TVB News as Managing Editor, Deputy General Manager and Chief Editor of Chinese Television Network, a 24-hour news satellite TV channel and News Head (Chinese) of RTHK. He is currently Head of Training and Development Unit of Radio Television Hong Kong and Vice Chairman of Hong Kong Federation of Journalist.
