Felix Soh

Felix Soh is the Deputy Editor of The Straits Times, Asia's largest-circulation English-language newspaper. Prior to this, he was the News Editor of the 160 year-old newspaper (1988-93) and subsequently Foreign Editor (1993-2002). As both News Editor and Foreign Editor, he travelled extensively around the world on reporting and writing assignments. In writing, his area of specialty is security and defence issues. He has written extensively on these subjects since 1981 and has attended many defence and security conferences and seminars in Singapore and around the world. In 2003, he wrote a book on the security history of Singapore, entitled Phoenix: The Story of the Home Team.

Soh is also a founding member and board member of the Asia News Network, an association comprising the major English-language newspapers in Asia, including China, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and India. He is Associate Professor (Adjunct) at the School of Communication and Information of the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. He is a member of the Society of News Design and the Society of Professional Journalists.
