Frank Proctor
Frank Proctor was General Manager of Newsweek magazine's
Pacific Edition from 1997 to 2005. Prior to taking on that role
in Hong Kong, Proctor was based in New York as Newsweek's International
Special Projects Director, leading a team to develop innovative
marketing solutions for advertisers. He recently left Newsweek to
set up a new company, East Slope Publishing, to explore new ventures
in the publishing arena.
Proctor is also currently Project Coordinator for "The
Power of Print," a landmark research project conceived and designed
to help media professionals in Asia better understand the role and
effectiveness of print advertising. He served as Chairman of the
Society of Publishers for the 2004-2005 year.
After graduating magna cum laude from the University
of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he received his Master of Philosophy
in international relations at Cambridge University and later an
M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
He currently serves on the Advisory Board for International Studies
at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
