Rusty Todd

 

Rusty Todd is a professor of journalism at the University of Texas at Austin, where he specializes in business journalism and copy-editing. Now on leave, he is serving as director of business journalism at the Journalism & Media Studies Centre at the University of Hong Kong. He was chair of the UT Journalism School from 1993 to 1996. He came to UT from Dow Jones & Co., Inc., in 1993. At Dow Jones he was news editor of Hong Kong-based Asian Wall Street Journal; a beat reporter covering Southeast Asian stock markets and banks; and Asia-Pacific regional development manager for Dow Jones/Telerate. In New York Todd was founding editor of the Dow Jones Emerging Markets Report, a newswire covering developing economies. He was a faculty member at the University of Missouri School of Journalism, where he served as city editor of the Columbia Daily Missourian. He was also state editor at the Austin American-Statesman. Todd sits on the board of the Dow Jones News Fund. Todd, 59, holds a doctorate from Stanford University. Married 37 years, he has two children.
